04/11-04/14/2013 - YMCA Short Course Yards Masters Nationals were held at the Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Center at the International Hall of Fame Pool on Fort Lauderdale Beach.  Over 45 Wisconsin swimmers attend the 4-day event and enjoyed 85-degree, sunny weather.  YMCA's represented were Stevens Point, YMCA of Dane County, Manitowoc, Oshkosh and Schroeder.  Complete results are found at ( http://www.ymcaswimminganddiving.org/  ) under Championships, searching the results by YMCA name.  ( New Wisconsin Records )

03/23/2013-03/24/2013 - Wisconsin State SCY Champs at Schroeder were held with 175 swimmers attending over two days.  This is the largest number of swimmers who have attended the Wisconsin State SCY Champs.  Everyone had the most positive feedback.  Numerous new State records were set.  Numerous new cutoff times were attained for the USMS Spring SCY Nationals (at Indy 5/9-5/12/2013, registration is still open).  Please take a moment to see the Video from Saturday that was made by a swimmer and sent to us with a Thank You e-mail.  Please also see the video-of-meet made by another swimmer.

03/09/2013 - Thirty-one swimmers enjoyed a pleasant Saturday afternoon SCY competition at the Jack Young Middle School in Baraboo, WI.  New Wisconsin Records were set by Fred Salzmann (1), Bela Sandor (2) and Carl Mulholland (2).  ( Results )

03/03/2013 - Sixty-nine swimmers participated in the Masters Meet held by the Whitefish Bay Masters at the Whitefish Bay High School Pool on Sunday, 3/03/2013.   Three new Wisconsin Masters Records were set.  This was the first time the newly formed Whitefish Bay Masters Workout Group hosted a masters meet at the newly remodeled WFB pool.  Contrats to the WFB Masters on a great meet.   ( Results )

02/10/2013 - Fifty-seven hearty swimmers participated in the Masters Meet held at the Madison East YMCA on 2/10/2013.   The weather was awful for driving to the meet in that it was freezing rain and heavy rain all day.  Four new Wisconsin Masters Records were set.   ( Results ) ( New Records )

01/31/2013 - Fifty-one swimmers participated in the Water Warriors Fitness Event, swimming a total of 1,793,470 yards (e.g., 1,019 miles) during a two-week period from November 1, 2012 to December 31, 2012.  The exact two consecutive weeks were at the discretion of the swimmer.

01/31/2013 - Twenty-six Wisconsin swimmers participated in the USMS Go-The-Distance Event, sponsored by Nike.  Thanks again to Melodee Nugent, Fitness Chair, who compiled the list of results for Wisconsin swimmers. ( Results )

01/27/2013 - Forty-two swimmers braved the weather to attend a very enjoyable meet at the Oshkosh YMCA, a newer YMCA in Wisconsin.  Thanks to the Oshkosh Y Masters for hosting the meet. ( Results ) ( New Records )

01/13/2013 - Ninety swimmers attended the first SCY meet of 2013 held at the YMCA @ Pabst Farms in Oconomowoc.  Despite the snow and cold, everyone enjoyed great times in a newer YMCA facility.  Who was the winner of the slide contest following the meet? ( Results )

12/08/2012 - The Wisconsin State SCM Championship was held at the West Bend West High School SCM Pool.  The snow held off until 12/09 and made for an interesting Packer game instead of driving problems for this meet!  Ninety-five swimmers competed at the meet.  Multiple Wisconsin Masters records were set.  ( Results ) ( New Individual Records ) ( New Relay Records )

11/05/2012 - The preliminary 2012 USMS Top Ten for Long Course Meters has been published on the USMS website.  Please review  Individual Events and Relay Events.  Report any corrections to WITopTen@usms.org before November 20th, 2012.  If these links do not work in your browser, please navigate to the www.usms.org website, select the Competition tab and select Top Ten.  This version of the USMS Top Ten is subject to editing and the final version will be published at the end of December.  These results do change based on feedback for corrections.  In this preliminary version, Wisconsin has 56 Individual places and 14 relay places.  Isn't that great!

09/22/2012 - The Wisconsin Masters Annual Meeting was held at the YMCA @ Pabst Farms in Oconomowoc.  Minutes from the meeting will be added to this website at a later date.

09/15/2012 - Wisconsin Senior Olympics Masters Swim Meet, held at the Shorewood High School Pool, was attended by 64 swimmers age 50 and over.  Thirty swimmers were USMS members.  All the times of the USMS swimmers will be submitted to USMS for top ten consideration regardless of the swimmer's registered LMSC.  This SCY meet was recognized by USMS and run according to USMS rules which included the valid pool measurement.  ( Sr. Olympics Website ) ( Heat Sheet ) ( Final Results for USMS members )

09/12/2012 - United States Aquatics Sports (USAS) Convention is being held from 9/12 to 9/16 in Greensboro, NC.  Six delegates from Wisconsin Masters are attending the USMS sessions at the Convention.  This annual convention serves as the annual meeting for USMS.  Reports from the Convention will be in the next newsletter.  Full Convention Results are posted at http://www.usms.org/admin/conv/2012/ on the USMS website.
